GFSI Seeking Applicants for Benchmarking and Harmonization Working Group

January 24, 2024

The Consumer Goods Forum’s Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) is seeking applicants to participate in a Benchmarking and Harmonization Working Group focused on the development and effective implementation of GFSI Benchmarking Requirements (BMRs). GFSI expects to convene the initial Benchmarking and Harmonization Working Party meeting in March with selected applicants.

GFSI Benchmarking requirements are the cornerstone of GFSI’s strategy for driving harmonization, and GFSI aims to deliver the next set of BMRs in 2024. Once selected, the Benchmarking and Harmonization Working Group will work with the GFSI Technical Sub Committee, at a global level, to achieve this aim.

In line with GFSI Governance Rules, CGF/GFSI member companies are expected to form the majority of the multi-stakeholder Benchmarking and Harmonization Working Group, which will include representatives from the following stakeholder groups overall:

  • Industry members (75 percent)
  • Certification bodies
  • GFSI-recognized certification program owners
  • Other senior ranking food safety management experts

Professionals with an extensive track record in food safety management in the context of certification against a GFSI-recognized certification program are encouraged to apply. Those who have already applied to the Benchmarking and Harmonization Working Group during the November 2023 call for applicants need not resubmit an application to be considered.

Applications can be sent via email with the subject line “Application for GFSI Benchmarking and Harmonization Working Group” to gfsibm@theconsumergoodsforum.com. Applicants should attach a CV and add a cover note explaining their suitability for the role.

GFSI will consider all applications received by Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at 5 P.M. CET. Successful applicants will be notified by email on February 29, 2024 before midday.
