ILSI Europe 2023 Annual Symposium Will Address Food Safety, Nutrition, Sustainability Challenges

The ILSI Europe Annual Symposium (IEAS) will take place on October 24, 2023 in Brussels, Belgium, where experts from across Europe will gather to tackle pressing issues in food safety, nutrition, and sustainability.

IEAS provides a platform for in-depth exploration of critical topics in the fields of food safety, nutrition, and sustainability. Attendees can expect scientific sessions featuring keynote presentations by knowledgeable leaders.

The event will begin with a welcoming breakfast buffet, followed by an evening reception on Tuesday, October 24th, to foster networking and collaboration.

The event’s opening session will focus on the safety of novel proteins. The session will include a perspective on the current status of and expected challenges in the safety assessment of novel proteins by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), as well as insights into the novel food guidance and its implications.

For the closing session on “Processing for Safe, Nutritious, and Sustainable Food,” three distinguished panelists bringing diverse perspectives from academia, research, and industry will engage in a discussion tackling complex issues, ranging from the alleged need for a classification of food based on processing to the challenges of communicating with consumers.

IEAS will take place Tuesday, October 2023 from 10:00 A.M.–6:00 P.M. local time at Comet Meetings Louise, Place Stéphanie 20, 1050 Brussels. To register for the event and access the program, visit the event website.
