Hygienic Material Handling and Cleaning Tools for Critical Environments

February 13, 2018

Perfex Corporation has manufactured cleaning tools for over 90 years, supplying high-quality products for food safety and critical cleaning professionals. Preventive maintenance is an integral part of every food processing facility, and choosing the right tool for the task is essential. To establish a comprehensive safety plan, companies must consider the people, equipment and environment involved in the food production process.

The most efficient way to ensure a sanitary processing facility is the implementation of a detailed color-coding system. With proper training, employees can better understand and will be able to clearly identify cleaning tools and their designated locations. Color-coding is an effective way to prevent cross-contamination and save employees time and potential confusion between food production runs.

We believe that professional cleaning tools should be designed to eliminate the prevalent problems associated with their use. For example, our patented Lite-N-Tite connection system, designed to eliminate the frequent problem of broken handles, and our fusion-set process to prevent premature fiber fallout have become standard tools in food processing facilities today.

Color-Coded Brooms & Brushes
Perfex broom and brush products maintain a superior edge over the competition by supplying color-coded tools constructed entirely of polypropylene, making them 100 percent recyclable and safe for the environment. Designed specifically to exceed the rigorous demands and hygienic concerns of today’s food manufacturing industry, these products are constructed with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-compliant materials. Brush fibers are fused into a high-impact-resistant polymer brush block, eliminating premature fiber fall-out and areas for contaminants to collect. The durable brush fiber maintains its shape over time, is nonconductive, will not absorb bacteria, liquids or odors, and is unaffected by grease, petroleum, detergents, sanitizers and solvents. Perfex’s Lite-N-Tite system has a unique socket design that locks the broom handle into a very tight fit, guaranteeing no more broken handles! That’s a promise no other company can make.

Perfex recommends cleaning brushes after every use and disinfecting if necessary. Worn brushes should be replaced to reduce the risk of cross-contamination and increase cleaning effectiveness. Brushes should be stored on tool mounting racks for proper air drying.

It is imperative for product quality that proper tools and cleaning procedures are rigorously followed within all food processing facilities. Hygienic cleaning methods provide a first line of defense against bacteria and viruses in food that can result in severe illness or even death.

Hygienic Material Handling
Hygienic tools for material handling and storage needs are constructed with FDA-compliant materials. Whether scooping food material from vats or picking up large loads, Perfex has the tool for the job. Polypropylene construction can be sterilized and won’t scratch stainless steel surfaces. High-impact-resistant scoops and shovels are perfect for handling ingredients of any size. A square point shovel with a deep bucket capacity allows for easy handling of hefty loads. Smooth, ergonomic, one-piece construction eliminates weak points and areas for contaminants to collect.

TruCLEAN Mopping Systems
Perfex maintains a strong presence in the critical cleaning industry with its TruCLEAN product line. Contaminants can be effectively captured and isolated with TruCLEAN multi-bucket mopping systems. Debris can be secured through hundreds of release apertures combined with natural gravity flow to transport contaminants from the wringer into waste collection buckets. The risk of run-off contaminants commonly associated with steam sterilizers can be avoided.

TruCLEAN mopping systems will save time and significantly reduce overhead costs by eliminating the need for specialized training. Mopping system components are constructed of high-grade stainless steel, are easy to maintain and are guaranteed to deliver reliable cleaning results time after time. Several different bucket configurations are available, which all work to isolate debris and prevent cross-contamination. TruCLEAN mopping systems are compatible with gamma, ethylene oxide and autoclave sterilization.

At Perfex, we take pride in delivering American-made products with the highest level of integrity to you. This passion keeps us constantly on the move, creating new products, improving others and aiming toward our ultimate goal:
customer satisfaction.
