Understanding Foreign Material Inspection Inside and Out

In-line inspection systems play a critical role in preventing products with foreign material from reaching your customers, but many food safety professionals may not fully understand their in-house detection equipment's strengths and weaknesses—and what solutions exist to address them. In this webinar, the speakers will provide an in-depth understanding of foreign material inspection in manufacturing processes.

We will explore both in-line and external inspection systems, their capabilities, and their limitations including:  

  • The most common types of in-line equipment and what are they best suited for
  • The major blind spots or downsides of relying entirely on in-house equipment
  • How external inspection services work, and how they can complement internal systems

Speakers:

Kye Luker, Chief Product Officer, FlexXray. Kye Luker serves as the Chief Product Officer at FlexXray, where he leads the development of the company's innovative X-ray inspection process and technology. With over two decades of experience in the service, CPG, food, and beverage industries, Kye brings a wealth of knowledge in continuous improvement, quality assurance, and formulations to his role.





Kurt Westmoreland, Chief Commercial Officer, FlexXray. Kurt Westmoreland is the Chief Commercial Officer for FlexXray and has more than 35 years of experience in food safety. His early career focused on analytical testing with Silliker and evolved into a trusted and well-respected sales and commercial operations executive with Mérieux NutriSciences for 28+ years, helping the company expand to a fully integrated food safety provider. Throughout his career, Kurt has been an active member in several industry associations, including IFT, IAFP, AFFI, IPPE, BIFSCO, NAMI, and several others.
