Capgemini––provider of consulting, technology and outsourcing services––announced this week that the industry’s first laboratory information management system (LIMS) and ERP as-a-service solution in collaboration with Thermo Fisher Scientific. Powered by Thermo Scientific SampleManager LIMSTM, Capgemini’s new LIMS/ERP as-a-service solution provides chemicals, energy, manufacturing and life sciences companies with real-time decision-making capabilities to streamline data intelligence, mitigate risk, increase productivity and improve profitability across their supply chains.

By incorporating Thermo Fisher Scientific Informatics Suite of products with Capgemini’s Service Management and Service Level Agreement Reporting Command Center, LIMS data will smoothly integrate with the ERP to generate a dashboard-driven view of the enterprise. This transformational view enables Enterprise Quality Intelligence across the supply chain that can improve forecasting, analysis and supply chain scheduling, and accurately assess quality control measures and assurance steps in production. With greater demands for big data, cloud and mobility capabilities than ever before, this new combined LIMS/ERP solution aims to improve responsiveness of the labs and parties involved in viewing the data and leveraging the solution to meet today’s market demands.

“A well-integrated lab is critical to success across many industries, and we’re continuously working to ensure that our solution integrates with technologies that are central to greater efficiency, better processes and higher performance,” says Matt Grulke, director of marketing and new business development for the Informatics business at Thermo Fisher Scientific. “Capgemini has a large global footprint and a successful track record helping businesses derive the greatest value from ERP, and we’re pleased to see this vision of true LIMS/ERP integration come together.”

The new integrated LIMS/ERP solution offers:

  • Access to real-time quality intelligence from the laboratory to the C-suite
  • Full integration of the quality laboratory data with the supply chain ERP system
  • Generation of laboratory data assets across the organization
  • Service level agreements for production
  • Accelerated deployments for enterprise software implementation

“SampleManager’s ability to deliver enhanced functionality that empowers timely decision making, combined with Capgemini’s experience supporting ERP projects in industries core to Thermo Fisher Scientific’s business, made this a well-aligned collaboration,” says Robert Stephens, Capgemini North America Oil & Gas and Chemicals Sector lead. “Not only are we helping customers increase productivity, we’re better enabling companies to take control of their supply chain data and apply it toward critical business operational decisions.”
