Eagle Product Inspection Launches SimulTask 6 X-Ray Inspection Platform

Eagle Product Inspection, part of Mettler Toledo, has launched SimulTask 6, an X-ray inspection platform designed to provide food processors with advanced image analysis, real-time production monitoring, automated reporting, and artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled inspection capabilities.
The platform integrates inspection results, production statistics, and equipment performance monitoring into a high-resolution interface, allowing food manufacturers to identify production changes, investigate product rejection patterns, and verify inspection performance.
SimulTask 6 also supports AI-enabled, task-based solutions tailored to specific x-ray inspection applications. According to Eagle, these capabilities are intended to help processors use inspection data to address production challenges and improve operational efficiency.
Real-Time Production Monitoring and Inspection Performance
SimulTask 6 provides real-time visibility into production throughput, product acceptance and rejection counts, inspection status, and recorded rejection reasons. These capabilities allow operators to identify changes in production conditions and investigate the inspection results contributing to product rejections.
According to Eagle, the platform also supports consistent product classification and inspection data stability as conveyor belt speeds change.
To support inspection performance verification, SimulTask 6 includes inline and offline Performance Verification Routines, automated reminders, and startup health checks. Continuous equipment health monitoring is intended to help processors maintain reliable inspection operations.
The platform also incorporates personalized user permissions to help protect critical inspection settings and support operational control.

Automated Reporting and Cybersecurity Features
SimulTask 6 includes automated batch PDF reporting capabilities, which Eagle said can reduce the manual effort required to compile inspection data for production reviews and audit preparation.
The platform operates on Windows 11 and supports radio-frequency identification (RFID) logins for secure user access. According to Eagle, these features are intended to improve compatibility with manufacturers' information technology environments and support preparation for evolving cybersecurity requirements, including the EU Cyber Resilience Act.
By combining inspection data analysis, equipment monitoring, performance verification, and automated reporting, SimulTask 6 is designed to help food processors integrate X-ray inspection information into their broader quality management operations.
