ABB Introduces Solutions for Cable Strain, Electrical Controls Protection in Food Manufacturing

ABB’s Installation Products Division has introduced two new solutions for food and beverage manufacturing facilities: T&B Fittings wire mesh grips and T&B Enclosures HMI covers.
T&B Fittings Wire Mesh Grips
According to ABB, the wire mesh grips were designed to support and protect cables from strain, vibration, and environmental conditions in industrial and food processing applications. They accommodate various cable types and sizes and are intended to reduce cable stress, prevent damage from bending, and provide secure cable organization.
T&B Fittings strain relief cord grips are designed to reduce tension and cable pullout where cables terminate into machinery, equipment, and enclosures. The grips are available in dust-tight models for indoor environments and deluxe models for more demanding conditions. ABB said the products provide strain relief and bend support intended to help extend the service life of jacketed cables.
Additionally, T&B Fittings service/bus-drop grips support cables suspended from electrical connections in indoor commercial environments. The grips can be paired with a safety spring accessory for static cable loads. According to ABB, the design distributes cable weight while helping absorb shock and reduce strain on cable terminations.
For wet and corrosive environments, T&B Fittings support grips are designed to protect cables from pulling, strain, and vibration. Offset-eye support grips feature single-weave Type 316 stainless steel wire mesh for use in high-moisture environments. Non-metallic cable grips are made from lightweight aramid fiber and are designed to provide cable support and vibration protection in corrosive applications.
T&B Enclosures HMI
Engineered for easy visibility and quick access, T&B Enclosures HMI covers mount on NEMA Type 4 and 4X enclosures to shield human-machine interface (HMI) instruments with touchpad controls and pushbuttons from water and debris in indoor and outdoor environments. Ideal for food and beverage processing, ABB's T&B Enclosures HMI covers feature a non-metallic, non-corrosive, and non-conductive construction to protect operator interfaces both indoors and out.
