Mettler Toledo Introduces Rapid Inspection Systems Delivery System

Mettler Toledo Product Inspection Group has introduced LightningBuild, a program offering delivery of select product inspection systems within four weeks of purchase order. The program is launching with the X12 LightningBuild X-ray inspection system and C31 LightningBuild checkweigher.
Both systems will be exhibited at Pack Expo in booth 2122. According to Mettler Toledo, LightningBuild is available at no additional charge and is intended for food and pharmaceutical manufacturers that need to quickly add, replace, or adapt product inspection capacity.
“Timing is one factor many manufacturers cannot control, especially in seasonal production or contract packaging. Their production window opens when it opens, and the equipment has to be there and ready to go,” said Tom Koshy, Sales Director at Mettler Toledo Product Inspection.
Four-Week Delivery for Product Inspection Equipment
Potential applications for LightningBuild include adding inspection capacity to accommodate changing seasonal production volumes, responding to new co-packing contracts or package formats, replacing equipment following an unexpected outage, and obtaining equipment before fiscal-year budget deadlines.
Mettler Toledo assembles each LightningBuild system to order. The company said it supports the four-week delivery schedule through standardized engineering processes, inventory management, and coordinated production planning. Systems undergo the company’s standard testing and quality checks prior to shipment.
X-Ray Inspection and Checkweighing Systems
The X12 LightningBuild is an entry-level X-ray inspection system designed for small- to medium-sized packages in food and pharmaceutical applications. According to Mettler Toledo, the system detects dense contaminants including metal, glass, stone, and bone, and can perform package integrity checks.
The C31 LightningBuild is an entry-level inline dynamic weighing system for food and non-food manufacturing. The system provides 100 percent inline weight control as an alternative to manual spot checks, supporting compliance with net-weight requirements and helping manufacturers control product giveaway.
LightningBuild is available in the U.S., Canada, and Latin America. Deliveries outside the U.S. may require additional time for transit and customs clearance. Mettler Toledo said it plans to add more product inspection models to the program in the future.
