More than 20 speakers will share new insights and the latest trends in High Pressure Processing (HPP) at the Universal Pure 2019 HPP Summit to be held Sept. 25-27 in Atlanta.

Among this year’s speakers are:

  • Dr. Melanie Abley, acting deputy director, USDA-FSIS
  • Dr. Marcia Walker, vice president, Research, Development & Food Safety, Tofurky
  • Alyson Eberle, founder and CEO, Pure Spoon
  • Barb Stuckey, president and chief innovation officer, Mattson
  • Mike Kaufman, principal, L.E.K. Consulting
  • Terry Levee, senior director, Food Safety and Regulatory Compliance, Giant Eagle, Inc.
  • Dr. Errol Raghubeer, senior vice president, HPP Science & Technology, Avure Technologies

Included in this year’s speaker lineup are some of the industry’s most respected journalists, as the event introduces a new Media Panel this year. Jim Dudlicek, editorial director, Progressive Grocer; Andy Hanacek, editor-in-chief, The National Provisioner; and Matt Reynolds, editor, Packaging World will discuss their take on HPP and what they see are the leading issues.

The three-day HPP Summit will bring together manufacturers, retailers, food service companies, regulatory and academic leaders, and others in the HPP industry to discuss the latest trends and practices in the industry, including food safety, shelf life, clean label and regulatory issues.

“In today's uber-competitive world, it's critical to stay on top of trends,” said Barb Stuckey of Mattson, a developer of new foods and beverages for the retail food and chain restaurant industries. “One of the best ways to get a different perspective on trends is to attend conferences like this one and hear people outside your own company share their thoughts.”

The HPP Summit has drawn hundreds of attendees over the past three years, providing a forum for education, networking and collaboration, while demonstrating how HPP can make a meaningful impact on food and beverage safety and quality.

“We’re excited about this year’s HPP Summit that will feature today’s brightest leaders in the HPP food and beverage industry,” said Jeff Williams, CEO, Universal Pure. “Attendees will get a chance to learn what’s new and next in HPP and how to maximize HPP for their companies. The HPP industry is on a strong growth trajectory, and this year’s event promises to be the best ever, with leading innovations, best practices, and new insights. You won’t want to miss it.”

The event will be held at Loews Atlanta Hotel in midtown, 1065 Peachtree St. NE, featuring exciting nearby restaurants and attractions, including the Georgia Aquarium and the World of Coca-Cola.

Universal Pure will donate net ticket and sponsorship proceeds to these two organizations.
