The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has released its plans for 2015 through 2017 in an 80-page Single Programming Document released to the public today.

Over the next couple of years, a major part of the EFSA’s scientific work will involve:

  • Delving into the relationship between acrylamide and caffeine
  • Revising the EU plant pest annexes
  • Launching a multi-disciplinary project focusing on the risk assessment of stressors in bees.

Additionally, EFSA plans to add a new report on chemicals in food to supplement existing annual data monitoring reports on topics such as foodborne outbreaks and antimicrobial resistance.
