Company: Invert Robotics

Website: https://invertrobotics.com/

Technology Snapshot: Invert Robotics, a New Zealand company founded in 2012, is committed to making food production line inspections safer. They believe that “it is a basic human right to work in a safe and sustainable environment where our health and safety is taken seriously by employers. Their robotic inspections minimize and eliminate the risk of bacterial, product-to-product, and human-to-product contamination. Additionally, their robots can detect defects that are impossible to see with the naked eye. The data they collect are transmitted in real time to clients and a full analytical report is delivered to clients in 72 hours. They lease their inspection robots, instead of selling them, to minimize their ecological footprint. They have conducted robotic inspections in 19 different countries.

With the COVID-19 pandemic, it is more necessary than ever to make sure that safety standards are being met. It is also more difficult than ever to do so. These robotic inspections allow companies to make sure that safety standards are met without asking people to enter contained spaces, be around other people, or risk contaminating equipment. Invert Robotics inspections allow people to maintain safe distances from one another and distance themselves from production equipment that will interact with food. Many food production lines typically export products around the world. During a pandemic, it is vital that these products remain safe for consumers. This technology helps with that mission.

The innovative spirit that is found at Invert Robotics is not relegated to only the New Zealand tech sector. Creativity and out-of-the-box thinking can be seen at all levels of society in New Zealand, from compassionate top governance to local efforts to boost domestic tourism.
