Gil Domingue, Ph.D. runs a data analysis consultancy and offers farm-to-fork hygiene assessments. He is registered with the Royal Environmental Health Institute of Scotland (REHIS) to mentor in Food Hygiene. Previously he served as the R&D Project Manager at GALVmed, a BMGF-funded charity for veterinary medicines including vaccines, where he led projects in sub-Saharan Africa and Latin America. Prior to this, he worked in Food, Water, and Environmental analytics under UKAS and DEFRA accreditation. Gil holds a Ph.D. from the University of Asto in Birmingham. He held a post-doctoral position in Professor Bill Costerton's Biofilm Laboratory at the University of Calgary and obtained a Research Fellowship in the Microbiology Department at the University of British Columbia Hospital. He started his microbiology career in the Public Health Laboratory Service (PHLS), the forerunner of today's UK Health Security Agency, and worked in several PHLS/NHS departments gaining extensive microbiological experience from analytics to molecular typing.
