Claire Koelsch Sand, Ph.D. is the owner and founder of Packaging Technology & Research LLC and a global packaging leader with over 35 years of food science and packaging experience. Her mission is to enable a more sustainable food system by advancing science and value chain innovations that address food safety. She previously worked at Total Quality Marketing, Nestle, General Mills, Kraft Heinz, Safeway, and academia, as well as in basic research, development market research, and marketing in Germany, Colombia, and Thailand. Dr. Sand holds a Ph.D. in Food Science and Nutrition from the University of Minnesota, as well as M.S. and B.S. degrees in Packaging from Michigan State University.
