Leafy Greens Recalled for Possible Salmonella Contamination

August 13, 2019

On Friday, Dole Fresh Vegetables announced a voluntary recall of some cases of baby spinach due to possible Salmonella contamination. The recall was prompted after random testing conducted by the Michigan Department of Agriculture uncovered a positive result. 

The recalled products, distributed in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Tennessee, Virginia, and Wisconsin, include:

  • 6 oz Dole Baby Spinach bags; Lot code W20308A; UPC code 0-71430-00964-2
  • 10 oz Dole Baby Spinach clamshell; Lot code W203010; UPC code 0-71430-00016-8

The use-by date for both affected products is 08-05-2019. This product is expired and should no longer be on retail shelves. Consumers are advised to check the product they have in their homes and discard any product matching these lot and UPC codes and use-by dates.

No illnesses have been reported in relation to this recall.
