Food Safety Net Services Certification & Audit (FSNS C&A), a worldwide provider of certification and audit services and audit programs for the food safety industry, has announced it has been selected as the “Certification Body of the Year” at the 5th annual BRC Americas Food Safety Conference in Orlando, FL.

This prestigious award, which validates the growing capacity and ongoing integrity of the FSNS C&A Certification program, is a result of FSNS C&A continuing to demonstrate the growth of audited sites through voluntary module programs including Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) and culture excellence. FSNS C&A was the first Certification Body (CB) to have an audited site complete with the culture excellence module program. Through education and organizational growth, FSNS C&A, as a CB, is actively using the voluntary module program to ensure excellence.

“We are honored to be selected as the BRC Certification Body of the year and are proud of our association with the British Retail Consortium,” says John Bellinger, CEO of FSNS. “This award represents the leadership, knowledge, work ethic and passion exhibited by Lori Ernst, our VP of Auditing and Certification, and her team, building FSNS C&A into a premier auditing team.”

To achieve this level of recognition, FSNS C&A has ensured extensive training for its auditors, including FSMA training taught by professors who are experts in food safety. The goal of the training was to provide growth opportunities, ensure consistency among auditors to assist clients with continuous improvement, and to develop the most highly qualified auditors in the industry. Upon completion of the 3-day FSMA course, all auditors became Preventive Controls Qualified Individuals.

FSNS C&A CB was able to encourage the culture of excellence through promoting continuous improvement and development of the audited site. Utilizing the module program, FSNS C&A is equipped to assist clients in implementing and achieving BRC certification.
