Larry Keener, president and CEO of International Product Safety Consultants and longtime member of the FSM Editorial Advisory Board, has been nominated as a candidate for leadership of the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) Board of Directors for 2015. He was confirmed as an IFT Fellow in 2013.
Larry would bring vast global experience in food safety, food technology, microbiology, regulatory affairs and crisis management to the position. As co-founder and co-chair of the Global Harmonization Initiative, which promotes the harmonization of international food safety legislation and regulations, he would bring a wealth of expertise to the position. He has also served as chair of IFT’s Non-Thermal Processing Division.
The election runs from February 17–March 18, 2015. IFT voting members will be able to cast their ballots via the Internet. IFT will send out an “Election Open” message e-mail on February 17, 2015, with details on how to cast your vote. We encourage all current IFT members to cast their ballots for Larry, as he would make an outstanding addition to IFT’s board and has been a very active and valuable member of the Food Safety Magazine team.
