On November 19th, the Georgia Department of Agriculture (GDA) will sponsor an interactive discussion session outlining the requirements of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) proposed produce safety rule appearing in the congressional mandates in the 2011 Food Safety Modernization Act. The goal is to educate the state’s growers, shippers, handlers, distributors and retailers about the revisions to the proposed rules prior to the comment period ending on December 15th.
Included in the talk will be top officials from the FDA. Taking place at the GDA’s headquarters in Atlanta, live events will also be streamed from other on-site locations in Gainesville, Macon and Tifton.
The event is open to the public, but space is limited. To register, visit Georgia.gov for more information and to register.
