A new Mérieux NutriSciences laboratory was inaugurated on September 16th in Resana, Italy by Philippe Sans, president & CEO of Mérieux NutriSciences. Alexandre Mérieux, chairman of Mérieux NutriSciences, and the members of the Board of Directors attended the ceremony.
The new chemistry laboratory specializes in food contaminants and residues analysis, which represents a growing health concern for consumers around the world. The laboratory applies approved methods for the detection of contaminants including pesticides, mycotoxins, dioxins, veterinary drugs, heavy metals, radioactive substances and allergens.
Over 70 employees work in this new laboratory that bears the name of Tiziano Conte, the founder of CHELAB--a company acquired by Mérieux NutriSciences in 2012. With cutting edge equipment at the forefront of technological developments, this new laboratory places Mérieux NutriSciences as a main chemistry player in Europe and strengthens its food safety leadership in Italy and worldwide.
Designed with standards respecting the environment, this facility represents a valuable addition to Mérieux NutriSciences’s worldwide network, which today encompasses more than 80 laboratories in 20 countries.
