CDC: Salmonella Outbreak Caused by Alfalfa Sprouts is Over
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has declared an end to an outbreak linked to raw sprouts.
The CDC, along with officials from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and multiple state agencies investigated a multistate outbreak of Salmonella Reading and Salmonella Abony infections. Illnesses started on dates ranging from May 21, 2016 to September 10, 2016. To date, CDC has reported 36 victims in 9 states. Seven of those people were hospitalized. No deaths have been reported.
