Educational Direction for 25th Annual Event being Developed

In this episode of Food Safety Matters, we interviewed professionals from the industry, regulatory, and nonprofit sectors, live from the show floor of the Food Safety Summit, which took place on May 9–12 in Rosemont, Illinois. We discussed food safety management systems, the New Era of Smarter Food Safety, recall modernization, supply chain disruptions, food fraud, and humanizing food safety through effective messaging.

Gillian Kelleher, President and CEO of Kelleher Consultants LLC, will serve as Chairperson for the Educational Advisory Board (EAB) for the 2023 Food Safety Summit, produced by Food Safety Magazine and BNP Media. 

The closing session of the 2022 Food Safety Summit focused on the realities and challenges of sanitation in food processing facilities, as well as how facilities can use sanitation verification data and analysis as tools to drive hygienic improvements.

On Thursday afternoon of the 2022 Food Safety Summit, industry and regulatory representatives engaged in a panel discussion about how food safety culture and behavior can contribute to modernization of the inspection process.

During the Thursday morning Town Hall at the 2022 Food Safety Summit, top food safety regulators from FDA, USDA, CDC, and AFDO discussed initiatives and advances in food traceability, food safety policy, recalls, pathogen monitoring, food safety culture, and a number of other timely areas. 

An interactive educational session with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on Thursday morning of the 2022 Food Safety Summit examined how advancing traceability and adopting new tracing technologies can help protect consumers from contaminated food.

Wednesday at the 2022 Food Safety Summit began with a keynote presentation that featured a panel of regulatory and industry representatives who discussed their perspectives on the future, implementation, and importance of food safety culture.

Food safety leaders at nationally recognized restaurant chains gathered at the 2022 Food Safety Summit to discuss the importance of developing food safety management systems (FSMS), as well as ideas on how to develop FSMS.
