Derek joined Meijer in 2012 and currently serves as Director of Food Safety & Regulatory Compliance. In this role, he leads the Food Safety Governance Programs across the Supply Chain, Recall/Product Support Team, Regulatory Labeling Team, supporting Own Brands and Manufacturing, and Data Analytics. With 12 years of experience, Derek is actively involved in industry and professional organizations, including the FMI Food Protection Committee and the Conference for Food Protection. He is also a member of the Michigan Environmental Health Association (where he has served on the Board of Directors as Secretary and President) and the North Central Association of Food and Drug Officials.
