Dr. Brendan A. Niemira is the Chief Science and Technology Officer of the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) in Chicago, IL. He leads a team of science communicators, educators, and subject matter experts devoted to elevating the role of science in feeding the world. He has published more than 200 peer-reviewed research articles, book chapters, and critical reviews in the fields of food processing technology and food safety. Dr. Niemira is a Fellow of IFT and a past member of the IFT Board of Directors. He is a 25+ year member of IFT, IAFP and ASM.
