Dr. Bradley Marks is a professor and department chair of Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering at Michigan State University. He earned his undergraduate and graduate agricultural/food engineering degrees from MSU and Purdue University, respectively. Dr. Marks leads a multidisciplinary research team at the interface of engineering and microbiology, aimed at improving methods for validating pathogen control processes for ready-to-eat food products, with particular emphasis on Salmonella. He has been project director on over $20M in externally-funded grants, from the USDA, industry foundations, commodity groups, and private companies, and has authored/co-authored 112+ peer-reviewed journal articles at the interface of microbial food safety and engineering. Dr. Marks has won numerous teaching awards at the department, college, university, and national level, and is a Fellow of the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers. Dr. Marks is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Michigan.
