Bernie is the founder and CEO of Steves Risk Strategies LLC, based in Denver, Colorado. Bernie has over 37 years of experience in specialty crisis management insurance. Prior to founding Steves Risk Strategies, Bernie led Aon’s Global and U.S. Crisis Management team including political risk, terrorism and political violence, product recall and contamination, kidnap & ransom and personal accident, and contingency.

Bernie is recognized as one of the world’s leading product recall, contamination, and food borne illness insurance specialists. He is a frequent author and speaker on the topics of product contamination and recall insurance. Bernie has been a licensed insurance producer and a licensed surplus lines insurance producer since 1994. He received his International HACCP Certification from North Carolina State University and is a 2016 and 2021 Risk & Insurance® Power Broker® award recipient.
