USDA, FDA, and EPA to Partner with Food Waste Reduction Alliance
This week, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced a new partnership with the Food Waste Reduction Alliance. This effort is the latest in the Winning on Reducing Food Waste Initiative that was launched by all three federal agencies in 2018.
The partnership will formalize industry education and outreach efforts with the Grocery Manufacturers Association (to be renamed the Consumer Brands Association come 2020), the Food Marketing Institute, and the National Restaurant Association. These are the three founding organizations of the Food Waste Reduction Alliance (FWRA).
