Another Pre-Cut Fruit Salmonella Outbreak Tied to Caito Foods
A multistate outbreak of Salmonella Carrau has sickened at least 93 people in 9 states, says the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The source: Caito Foods LLC—the same supplier at the center of a similar outbreak that occurred nearly 1 year ago.
The contaminated produce items include pre-cut watermelon, honeydew melon, cantaloupe, and pre-cut fruit medley products containing one of the aforementioned melon types produced at Caito’s Indianapolis, IN facility.
