In March, news of a five-state Escherichia coli outbreak linked to soy nut butter products was announced. A federal investigation led by officials from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, including an epidemiologic traceback, pinpointed a single outbreak source: I. M. Healthy brand SoyNut Butter products. In all, 32 individuals became ill after the outbreak eventually spread to 12 states.
Now, FDA is reminding the public that all flavors of I. M. Healthy brand SoyNut Butter--including spreads and granola products--are still under recall after learning that the soy nut butter products are being sold online via various online vendors and stores.
