CHS Selects Log5 Pasteurization Technology to Secure Food Safety While Maintaining Quality, Taste, and Texture
Food technology firm Log5 has been chosen by CHS Inc.,--farmer-owned cooperative and a Fortune 100 company--to provide a new, truly natural, dry food pasteurization technology for CHS to use on sunflower seeds. Unlike traditional pasteurization methods, Log5 technology enables pasteurization to occur without changing the texture, taste, and overall quality of the food. The agreement was announced in a signing ceremony at the Digital Manufacturing and Design Innovation Institute in Chicago, IL.
“As a farmer-owned organization, our foremost concern is the delivery of high-quality food direct from the farm to the consumer,” says Robert Deraas, president, CHS Sunflower, a division of CHS Inc. “After careful consideration and extensive testing, it is clear to us that Log5 is the best pasteurization technology available. We are excited about Log5 and look forward to a long and mutually beneficial partnership.”
