Klöckner Pentaplast has earned a Safe Quality Food (SQF) Level 3 Certification, the highest possible rating, at its Greenville, Ohio site.

The SQF Program is recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative and links primary production certification to food manufacturing, distribution and agent/broker management certification. Level 3 certification expands beyond the food safety requirements contained at the first two levels and implements a quality standard.

"Achieving SQF Level 3 Certification validates our commitment to quality, safety and reliability, which provides our customers assurance that their brands’ packaging requirements are well protected,” says Justin Glass, Business Manager Food Films.

Company officials say that current customers with an interest in Klöckner Pentaplast's participation in the process expressed a minimum expectation of Level 2 certification – fundamental food safety controls along with a certified HACCP food safety plan benchmarked by GFSI.
